Tyler Wiemann and Shannon Sommerville explain Daily Fantasy Sports for beginners. They detail how it differs from season long fantasy sports as well as the scoring system on DraftKings and FanDuel and the different types of contests. Daily Fantasy Sports are a subset of fantasy sports games where players compete against others by building a team of professional athletes from a particular sport while remaining under a salary cap. Players earn points based on the actual statistical performance of the players in their particular competitions. Different from traditional fantasy sports which take place over the course of an entire season, daily fantasy sports as the name suggests take place over much shorter durations (a day or a week).
